THE GERMAN GENE KRUPA
In all the Jazz encyclopaedias not a single word can be found about Freddie 'Brocksi' Brocksieper. Just a few insiders know about him. That situation has changed since the release of our first two CDs in this series.
These first three CDs covered the period from October 1941 to May 1952 in chronological order. This, the fourth CD, picks up the story in 1955 and follows Freddie Brocksieper's career to 1959.
Horst P. Bergmeier's notes follow 'Brocksi' through this period. In addition to compelling first-person accounts set in the context of the German jazz scene at the time, there are musicological notes from
Dr. Wolfram Knauer, and a detailed discography from Rainer E. Lotz.
