Here are all of Cliff's German, French, Italian and Spanish recordings. A total of 102 songs. Cliff has been very successful during the 1960s and early 1970s. In Germany he charted with 15 songs, including two number one hits Rote Lippen soll man küssen and Das ist die Frage aller Fragen. Here are 58 German recordings, 19 Italian, 12 French, and 13 Spanish songs.
The world was a smaller place when Cliff Richard made these foreign language recordings for his growing international audience in the years between 1960 and 1974. His relaxed interpretation of the phonetic subleties of German, French, Spanish, and Italian, brought an authentic continental flavour to the predominantely romantic songs.
The original singles and LPs in this collection were usually only ever issued in the country for which they were recorded. They have never been collected in one place before. This boxed set enables the listener to follow the history of Cliff’s European ventures from the tale-end of the rock ‘n’ roll era right through to the age of kipper ties and flared trousers.
This lavish 4-CD presentation contains all of Cliff’s foreign recordings, and comes with a full-colour 96-page illustrated LP-size book, with an essay by Rob Finnis, and a detailed discography.
As a special bonus you get a copy of the original 'Cliff Richard Starschnitt' (a life-sized reproduction), plus the 'OK magazine' interview, which previously was only issued on a flexy-disc.4-CD box (LP-size) with 96-page hardcover book, 102 tracks. Playing time approx. 276 mns.
