Early in 1994, Bill Ramsey was invited by South German Radio (SDR) to do a production for radio and CD. He was accompanied by the SDR big band directed by Dieter Reith and sang 16 'good old good ones', as Louis Armstrong called them. Soloists included Berndt Rabe on alto sax, Klaus Wagenleiter on piano, and saxophonists Georg Kaufmann and Andreas Hartmann. The songs include some of the most enduring standards of our time: Cheek To Cheek, I'm Beginning To See The Light, Without A Song, Night And Day, Satin Doll, The Lady Is A Tramp, I've Got The World On A String, Misty,
They Can't Take That Away From Me, Georgia On My Mind, and several more, including two Ramsey originals, Gettin' Back To Swing and Something Lingers.
