In late 1954 this Shreveport duo scored a Top 10 hit with If You Don't, Somebody Else Will, and seemed poised to become the next big hit-making act to come from the Louisiana Hayride. It didn't happen, but Jimmy and Johnny recorded wonderfully sharp and emotionally powerful hillbilly music throughout the 1950s, branching occasionally into rockabilly. When Johnny Mathis quit the duo in 1955, Jimmy Fautheree's brother Lynn became 'Johnny'. All the Chess, Decca, 'D', Vin, and Republic sides are here, plus Jimmy and Wayne Walker's rare Chess recordings. The 33 titles include Sweet Love On My Mind,
I Can't Find The Doorknob, Love Me, Sweet Singing Daddy, and The Fun Is Over. Accompanying this set is a 48-page booklet with many never-before-seen photographs, as well as a biography and discography by Andrew Brown.
